Making the marinade for my chicken.
Pretty much a soy sauce/garlic/sesame oil base.
Skinless chicken thighs.

Ready for the oven!
Thought we should have some greens with our meal.

S & I are on this beer kick.
We like to try different of craft beer every week, usually with dinner.
Today it was Firestone.
We had this bad boy in the fridge for awhile, saving it until S had his camera back.

S opening the beer (:

Beer for two!
This one was a bit weird though, it wasn't like traditional beers. This was actually "barley wine" ...whatever that is! I didn't really like it. To me, it smelled like stale cork and alcohol. And the taste of it was some weird in-between of beer and wine. First of all, the alcohol kicks you in the face when you first take a sip. Then has this hint of wine-ish flavor which mellows out into a beer taste. To say it plain and simple, it tasted like carbonated weird wine! I'm not a fan. Also the alcohol taste/smell was so strong and over-powering it. I would give this a 1.5/5.. not likely that I would want to drink this again. S liked it enough to give it a 3.5~4/5 though. Maybe it's just not my thing!
Needless to say, I didn't drink my glass of that Firestone.
I tried to stomach it, but it wasn't working out too well.
I poured it back into the glass and told S to take it home and enjoy.

Instead, I tried out this beer.
Another one we bought this week.
Banana bread beer!
It really smelt like bananas!!! Yummy.
The smell reminded me of...

Banana milk!!
It tasted a bit like it too. The beer was very light.
It was a fun beer to try, but not something I'd probably get again.

Served it with some sticky rice.
Dinner is served.
I have to say, S & I enjoyed this very much -- will def make again.
