yum.
Looking at this picture makes me crave some more

Planned on studying afterwards
...but ended up at the movies somehow.
Watched 21 Jump Street, the comedy with the cops who disguise themselves as high school students in order to find and bust the person handing out a new type of drug.
Pretty funny, I would recommend it to friends who want a light comedy with an easy to follow plot

Said our goodbyes and then S & I went to pick up some groceries before heading back.

Thanks to my brother, I recently tried those San Pellegrino sodas and fell in love.

It's funny because, my brother hates San Pellegrino. Or at least the sparkling water.
He went to a restaurant once, and they had a bottle just sitting at his table. Him and his friend thought it was free with the meal, so they tried it out and thought it was disgustingly vile.
.....then later they were charged $12 for the bottle.
He was so mad he raged about it for a few days and then cringed every time he saw or heard the name 'San Pellegrino'.

Funny how he's the reason why I'm now addicted to this.

Saw the blood orange flavor and had to try it.
It was sweeter than the other flavors I tried, but still not as sweet as most sodas imo.

Grapefruit is my favie though, perfectly tart but with a tiny bit of sweetness so that its not a cringingly sour flavor. Just a good balance I think.
Then probably blood orange/regular orange are tied, leaving lemon at last place.
I have yet to try the chinotto, bitter orange, and mandarin flavors though.
They should make a pink grapefruit, omg  ♥

This was the first year I've ever tried Thin Mints, thanks to S.
Man... these are freaking good and I've been missing out on a good thing for over 2 decades.

GARLIC SOY CHICKEN

I was sitting around in class today and was particularly bored in my virology night class. S text-ed me saying he was hungry, so I started thinking of what to make for dinner. We had chicken that needed to be used... and voila! Kind of made up recipe, but I'm sure I'm not the first to have made this kind of dish. Nevertheless, my garlic soy chicken.

Home Cooking 003

Making the marinade for my chicken.
Pretty much a soy sauce/garlic/sesame oil base.
Skinless chicken thighs.

Home Cooking 004

Ready for the oven!
Thought we should have some greens with our meal.

Beer 002

S & I are on this beer kick.
We like to try different of craft beer every week, usually with dinner.
Today it was Firestone.
We had this bad boy in the fridge for awhile, saving it until S had his camera back.

S opening the beer (:

YM 065

Beer for two!
This one was a bit weird though, it wasn't like traditional beers. This was actually "barley wine" ...whatever that is! I didn't really like it. To me, it smelled like stale cork and alcohol. And the taste of it was some weird in-between of beer and wine. First of all, the alcohol kicks you in the face when you first take a sip. Then has this hint of wine-ish flavor which mellows out into a beer taste. To say it plain and simple, it tasted like carbonated weird wine! I'm not a fan. Also the alcohol taste/smell was so strong and over-powering it. I would give this a 1.5/5.. not likely that I would want to drink this again. S liked it enough to give it a 3.5~4/5 though. Maybe it's just not my thing!

Needless to say, I didn't drink my glass of that Firestone.
I tried to stomach it, but it wasn't working out too well.
I poured it back into the glass and told S to take it home and enjoy.

Beer 001

Instead, I tried out this beer.
Another one we bought this week.
Banana bread beer!
It really smelt like bananas!!! Yummy.
The smell reminded me of...

Banana milk!!

It tasted a bit like it too. The beer was very light.
It was a fun beer to try, but not something I'd probably get again.

Served it with some sticky rice.
Dinner is served.

I have to say, S & I enjoyed this very much -- will def make again.
